Farm Friends

Every year there is a local event called Farm Friends.  You can go see, hold, and/or pet several different kinds of farm animals and they always serve free beans and cornbread.
 As soon as we pulled up Lilly started talking about wanting to hold a baby chicken and milk a cow.  She clearly remembered last year!  This girl never forgets anything...and that can be both good and bad.  Ha!
 Holding their chicks!  We got to see a chick hatching from an egg, too, and that was pretty cool.  I don't know how I didn't get a pic of that??
 They also got to pet some bunnies.

 And they had some HUGE bunnies.
 Milking the cow.
 They both have some milking skills.
 Visiting the cows.

 Petting the goats.

 These sheep were just posed ready to take a picture...so I did.  (:
They both loved to pet all of the baby animals!

 Lilly put her hand out to pet the pig...
 and it got her all muddy.  Eck.  So we went and washed our hands and got ready to eat dinner.
 The kids actually tried the beans and cornbread this year.
 And we ended the evening riding the little pony.

And seeing this horse...this particular horse had seemed agitated and I just knew she was going to break out of that pin.  So you can imagine my panic when right after I snapped this picture Reid fell into the pin with her!!!  She didn't even move toward him and I got him out in what I am sure is record timing but it gave me quiet the scare.  As always it was such a fun night of free family fun and we are already looking forward to next year!  ( ;

What a fun free event. My niece and nephew would have loved to do something like that! Glad you were able to rescue Reid from the horse pen.
