2 Month Photos Are In!!

Lilly's two-month photos are up!! You can view them all at http://www.novo-studio.com/scott2/ . For those of you thinking, "Didn't she just have photos taken?"...the answer is yes! She gets them taken every month. If you see a picture you want, let me know (I have the rights to the photos).
--Well, as soon as I brag on Lilly and her sleeping, she has a rough night. She was sleeping, but she was kicking and punching. I am convinced that she was having a dream that she was practicing karate to the song "Everybody was kung fu fighting", but I can't prove it. I think she was just having a belly ache b/c she slept a lot this morning. Here's hoping to a better night tonight.
--She has learned how to click her tongue. It takes her a little while and a lot of effort, but she is really proud of herself when she succeeds.
--She likes being sung "Hey, Hey Good Lookin'.."

11 weeks

I went to put Lilly down in her bassinet today, but as soon as I did she woke up. I decided to see if she would fall asleep on her own (fully expecting that not to happen). So, as I am sitting in the living room holding the monitor waiting for her to start crying, she starting cooing. She just laid in her bassinet talking to herself, cooing, and laughing for a good fifteen minutes. (Matt laughed and said she was going to be just like her mom....hmmm, I wonder what he means by that??) I thought I would just mention a few things that Lilly is up to since she is 11 weeks today.
  • She is now consistently sleeping eight hours straight--five in her bassinet, three next to me in bed--but, I will take it.
  • She is getting better control of her arms and legs and loves to use them!! Unfortunately, she has started accidently punching herself in the face quite frequently when she gets excited.
  • She is continually finding new ways to fight her sleep, including the previously mentioned punching of herself in the face or the even cuter smile at you and try to get you to play (if you fall for this-you meet the overtired Lilly).
  • She is in love with our Christmas wreath.
  • She smiles and coos more and more each day. She is also starting to enjoy playing alone for small increments throughout the day.

The Scoop

Well, on Friday, Lilly's cousin Michelle came to visit. Then, Lilly's MoMo and Grandma Debbie came down--two weekends in a row. They came up Friday and left Saturday evening. We went and did a little Christmas shopping (I bet you can guess who we ended up buying presents for). Matt and I just hung out with Lilly today and continued to be amazed by our little cutie. What did we do for entertainment before her?? Once again, Lilly is styling on game day in her cheerleading outfit.... once again, the hogs, not so much!
Okay, so we don't do tummy time that often because everytime we think about it, it seems that she just ate and I don't want her to get an upset tummy. Plus, I figure she is always laying on her stomach on us. Tonight, we decided to do tummy time and she had a blast. She held her head up for at least five minutes straight--I am not exaggerating! It was amazing. Matt and I were in shock. She watched her toys. She is changing so much everyday. Not just in looks, she is learning and doing new things and interested in more. We are finally starting to use all of the stuff (toys, swings, baby einstein videos, etc) we bought. Also, she rolled over from her front to her back. I suspect she has done this before, but this is the first time I witnessed it and can say for sure.
The princess ended the night (and the weekend) with a relaxing bath, a bedtime story, and some warm milk.
Always bright eyed. She is so curious. If she is somewhere with a lot going on and she is tired, I have to put a blanket over her head (not smothering, just over my shoulder so she can't see everything) to get her to fall asleep. She is just too busy!!

Lilly's Video Debut

Okay, so this is Lilly's big video debut!! This is a video of her cooing. She isn't looking at the camera, so it is mostly a profile video, but she is using her sweet little voice. She is growing so fast. She changes daily. Everyday she is smiling more and cooing more. She discovered the tv this week, so we are experimenting with the Baby Einstein videos. If she is in the right mood-she loves watching them. I am trying to determine how to best utilize this time...perhaps shower without a chorus of crying in the background, maybe do some laundry without her strapped to me, eat dinner at the same time as Matt...this is going to open up some doors!! Haha.

The Grandmas Come to Town!!

How did Lilly feel about her MoMo and Grandma Debbie coming to visit her?... This face says it all!! She loved it.

Christmas Decorations

Well, since we had extra hands this weekend, we decided to decorate for Christmas. For those of you who haven't had both Grandmas over at the same time, you should! It was so great to always have someone to hold and play with Lilly and someone to help me...awesome! The house turned out great--I haven't been able to decorate for a couple of years because we were either trying to sell a house or moving. I love it now. Lilly's MoMo and I (mostly MoMo) put the tree up.
Dining in style.
This village even lights up. I feel like I should throw a Christmas party or something now.

Santa Lilly and Santa Tank

On Friday Lilly's Momo and Grandma Debbie came in town to visit. We have shopped, spoiled Lilly, and started decorating for Christmas. We are almost done, but we took a break from the decorating for a little Christmas photo shoot. Santa baby..
Santa Lilly and Santa Tank...Lilly thinks Tank is her reindeer

Who wouldn't love this face??

Best buds

Our gift from God!

Intern Reunion

Mindy and I both got pregnant during our internship--like 2 weeks apart. I was early and she was late. Her little one is three weeks old. Her and Lilly met for the first time! Awe...
It was so good to see everyone. We had dinner at La Huerta and everyone talked at once--just like the good old days.
Say Cheese :-)

Proof!

No, we did not take more pictures and make Tank dress up again. I just wanted to post this to prove that he was having a good time--he is smiling!! To see the photos of him and Lilly, you will have to go to older posts (bottom of page) if you missed seeing them the first time--hilarious!

Yummy Brownies

Brittney, John, and Trevor came over tonight. They even brought dinner--talk about some awesome guests! We made brownies (or brown ones as Trevor calls them) and Trevor reaped the benefits. He is such a cutie and his personality is adorable and hilarious. We started a blog for him so I am looking forward to reading it (he is t-funkalicious).

Everyone smiles for brownies-it is a proven fact!

Slept through the night??

  • Oh yeah, I almost forgot-Lilly slept from 11:00pm to 7:00am this morning!! Did she just sleep through the night?? It sure feels like it. I am so rested!

Our Weekend

Lilly turned two months old on Saturday!! I can't believe it has been two months, but then I can't believe we have only had her for two months! This is the first picture I have managed to catch of her smiling! My little stink can tell I am about to take a photo and will quit smiling right as the camera clicks.

She is cooing and smiling at her Mommy--melts my heart!

On Saturday night Lilly's Aunt CiCi watched her so that Mommy and Daddy could go on a date! Lilly was such a good girl for Aunt CiCi.

Matt and I went and saw Role Models and went to dinner at the Olive Garden. The movie was hilarious (in an inappropriate way) and dinner was great. We had a blast, but at the end of dinner we were practically racing to pick her up. Thanks Aunt CiCi for the great night out.

Great Grandma Odie Update

We went to see Great Grandma Odie at the hospital yesterday. She was up and around--can't keep a good woman down. I just got off the phone with her and she is home now. She goes tomorrow to get blood work and said she will probably go frequently until the clot is dissolved which can take a few months. This is a picture of the two of them from a few weeks ago.

Whats Going On..

Hey! Just a quick note about what has been going on now that Lilly and I are getting out and about:

  • Lilly and I had lunch with her Great Grandma Berti yesterday. She is doing pretty good and Lilly enjoyed seeing her. This is a picture of Lilly's Momo, Me, Lilly, and Great Grandma Berti.

  • Lilly had her first mall trip yesterday with Lisa and Trenton, and of course Mommy. She slept, Trenton played, Lisa and I shopped--Good trip.

  • Lilly's Aunt Shelly and I had our first facial today. It was fabulous and sooo relaxing. Thank you MoMo for the treat for Mommy.

  • We went to see Lilly's Great Grandma Odie in the hospital today. She has a blood clot in her leg. They put a filter in her leg today to keep the clot from moving into her lungs. She is doing fine, but they want to keep her for a few days to make sure everything is under control. We appreciate all prayers for this matter.

First Round of Shots :(

We arrived and were waiting to see the doctor...so far so good.
There is the mean shot lady (actually, she was pleasant enough). Lilly took her first round of shots really well. There are usually two nurses that give the shots simultaneously but they were short-handed today. The lady was fast and Lilly only cried for a minute and it wasn't a screaming cry either. Whew. I am glad that is done. I can't believe she is two months old!!

This is our "We survived" picture.

Ready to leave the doctor in our cute purple bow!! By this time, she was happy and cooing. Thank you lord for the good Dr.'s visit. Oh yeah, Lilly weighs 10lbs. 3oz. and is 21 and 3/4 inches long.

What a crazy day!!

It started out great! Sleeping beauty slept from 11:00 to 6:00. These are pictures from her nap today--she slept with us last night. I try not to let her sleep with us, but after an hour of getting her to sleep and having her wake up as soon as I tried to lay her down....I gave up.
Isn't she so sweet?
MoMo and Ethan came by to visit. They brought Mommy ice cream--Thank you! Then we went to vote--Lilly couldn't vote (no photo ID..haha).

Our first trip to Wal-Mart. Monumental, I know. Lilly was so tired, but there was just too much going on for her to fall asleep. She was just taking it all in. Then, we came home and did Halloween, the second (see previous post) with Lilly and Tank. She should sleep good tonight.

Halloween: Take Two

Lilly ended up with two costumes: the kitty cat and the pumpkin. She was the kitty cat on Halloween, but we decided to have some fun tonight and turn our little pumpkin into a pumpkin. Also, my mom (Lilly's MoMo) bought Tank a dragon costume. So, luckily for Tank, he got to get in on the fun too! Our little pumpkin--adorable.

What a pair of cuties.

Tank is posing for treats!! He got lots of treats during this photo shoot so I don't want any crap about animal cruelty.

Happy Halloween

Lilly was a kitty cat for Halloween. So cute! We went to Aunt CiCi's to see Great Grandma Odie, Marshall, and Eva Kate. Then, Aunt Michelle, Uncle Tom, Ethan, and Emma came to visit and help pass out candy. We had a busy day.
