Grandma's Little Doll

"DeDe where are you??" Grandma DeDe got Lilly this shirt....it say's "Grandma's little doll". I put it on with the intention of posting "We miss you Grandma DeDe" (and we do), but I heard she might be coming for a little visit with Grandpa....YAY!
Lilly was soooo happy to hear the news!
Waving "hello"....she is saying come on up!
And now she is playing.
I haven't posted about our weekend, but really we didn't do much. We tried to be outside most of the weekend since the forecast called for rain all week. We went by and fed the ducks and catfish at Aunt CiCi and Uncle Greg's.
We went to church, brunch, and hung out in town all day Sunday. This is Matt and Lilly at Sam's.
Well....have a good day everybody!!!

Sweet Dreams

Well, last night Lilly slept ALL night for the first time in at least a week. It is so funny-things I thought she had just kind of grown out of were apparantly symptoms of this ear infection. For example, she LOVES eating her baby food...anything out of a spoon. So, when she wasn't drinking as much formula-I thought it was just because she preferred the baby food. Or she had stopped "sleep eating" (finishing her bottle in her sleep). She had also become almost impossible to put down for naps. She would wake up in transition and refuse to go back to sleep. HOWEVER, after 2 1/2 days of medicine....she eats all of her bottles without a struggle, she sleep eats again, and she goes right back to sleep when I lay her down for a nap!! Anway, today was a fabulous day!!! I got to play with Lilly, get ready, clean house--dishes, laundry, bottle duty, etc., take a little nap, and cook dinner. This was one of the days where I think to myself, "Okay, we will be able to handle two babies." (Yes, there are days where I think, "How are we going to do this with two babies?") We went for another walk today. We are LOVING this great weather. It was pretty windy today but it was still very nice outside.
Tank on our walk--he is hilarious. On the nights we go walking, he puts himself to bed. He goes in his kennel and turns away from us so he can fall right to sleep. Then, the next day, he is so lazy!!
After our walk, Lilly and I shared a popsicle. This was Lilly's first popsicle. If you look closely, you can see that her tounge is all blue. She loved it--she just slurped away.
Lilly's sleep sacks are getting too small! So, yesterday, I got her some new PJs. She needs some more DeDe (shopping mission?) She had these same PJs in size 0-3 months and we loved them so much when I saw them in her size, I just had to get them for her. Last night was her first night in PJs instead of a sleep sack.
How did she like it? She did great! Here's to another good nights sleep tonight!!

Drumroll Please.....

Well, we went to the doctor today for our ultrasound!!! Matt, Lilly, MoMo, and myself loaded up to see whether we were looking at a little sister or brother for Lilly. Lilly and the doc. The baby is a..............
BOY!!!!! Our doctor laughed and said that he was really showing off by sitting right on the camera. Ha! She also said she doesn't normally guarantee the sex but she is pretty sure that it is definitely a boy. Everything looked great with our little boy. Praise God!
Here is what we call the "alien face". So loving, we know.
Here is the profile picture. You can see the spine too. I think that is so wierd!! Both the doctor and the ultrasound lady commented on how he kept his face burried in the side of my uterus.
After the ultrasound with Lilly, we went on a huge shopping spree. So in order to keep up with tradition, MoMo and I went to Kohls for something boyish. MoMo bought him the above two outfits. One says "Property of Mom Forever" and the other says "Daddy's All Star". I love them!! Thanks MoM0.
Matt told me to buy one outfit....so I bought one outfit and some pjs. I think we compromised. (c: One says "I love Mommy", one says "Daddy Loves Me" and the one in the middle has a baseball on the butt. CUTE.
Miss Priss hanging out waiting for the doctor to arrive.
I love this face!!
Trying to grab the camera. Little sneak.
Lilly's new thing today is throwing her hands up by her head. Where does she get all these cute moves??
We went to Copeland's for dinner to celebrate. Their Blackened Bayou Chicken is awesome!! Words can not even describe how good it is. However, nothing beats this dessert!!!
It is creamy cheesecake with hot fudge and chunks of brownie all over the top and side of it complete with whipped cream!! OMG!!! Heavenly! This is what I would like for birthday cake in the future!!!!!!!!!!
Lilly got to enjoy a little of it too...after all, we were celebrating!!
Ahhh, at home relaxing and playing before bed. It was an exciting day!!

Ear Infection

Well, I owe teething a big fat apology. Turns out that our sweet little angel has an ear infection. So that is the reason she hasn't been sleeping and has been a little clingy. I never suspected it because she is happy go lucky during the day--laughing, rolling, playing, etc. Considering that she has a pretty good ear infection, she has been doing so great!!! Poor baby girl.

On another note, her 6 month photos are in...you can see them at http://shopnovo-studio.com/cart/index.php?gnum=75&p=sarahmatt. I must explain first, though, that it was a really nice day out so we decided to do an outside photo shoot. HOWEVER, we didn't take into account that it was probably the WINDIEST day of the year and maybe in history. I tell you this to explain my hair in almost every photo--you will see and understand. Lilly, of course, looks darling anyway.

The weather is beautiful here today! So we decided to take advantage and go for a walk.
She is wearing the hat to cover that sweet ear. This is before we left the house...I wanted to get a picture of this outfit. Her shirt says, "Totally Sweet"--pretty fitting I think.
See--she IS totally sweet.
Here is Tank in the car ready to go "walking" at the park. Tank recognizes the word "walk" and goes nuts!!! He runs in circles, barks, and runs back and forth between us and the door. He loves going walking.
Here is a picture of her in the stroller. Notice a couple of things. 1.) She is saftely buckled in and harnessed up. 2.) Sunday, she slipped out of the stroller underneath where it says evenflo....so in hindsight, now that we are calm....it was really only a foot. Also, our pediatrician made me feel so much better when he said his own daughter fell off of the top of the shopping cart at 11 months old. It just made me feel better knowing that even pediatricians make mistakes like that.
Mommy and Lilly posing for a photo op during the walk. Oh yeah, we had lunch with MoMo and GG Berti today. Lilly was doing really loud pterodactyl shrieks for the entire restaurant. It was hilarious and embarassing at the same time. She would shriek at the top of her lungs and then giggle.

Ok, this video (ABOVE) is my favorite video so far. You will have to ignore Matt and I. Also, the first minute of the video-I did a HORRIBLE job videotaping (think Blair Witch Project). BUT, the second minute is priceless. I swear it actually sounds like she says "I love you Daddy" a couple of times. Especially right after I say that she is so cute and sweet. Maybe Matt and I are hearing things, but we totally hear it!!!

DaDaDaDaDa

Well tonight I was putting lotion on Lilly and getting her ready for bed when she started saying, "DaDaDaDaDa" over and over and over again!!! Yay!! We LOVE dadadada!!!!! Daddy and Lilly at Aunt CiCi and Uncle Greg's house. We went over there tonight and had spaghetti with grandma Odie. Then, in an effort to wear Lilly out so she will sleep (please God let her sleep) tonight we walked around their property. Poor Lilly (and her parents) hasn't slept well in two nights....like worse than when we first brought her home from the hospital (stupid teething). Fingers crossed for tonight!
Yay! Since birth, any time the wind blows Lilly loses her breath. She breathes in really deep. It is adorable. Today, though, she thought it was hilarious everytime the wind blew. Belly laughing out loud! Who knew?
We checked out the ducks at Aunt CiCi and Uncle Greg's pond.
Lilly enjoyed the bird watching.
We also got to feed them dinner!
Lexi swimming in the pond.
Chipper hanging out. Lilly loves watching the big doggies too.
After we got back inside, Aunt CiCi and Lilly did some pilates/leg lifts. Ha! Lilly loves laying on her side these days. Tonight, Aunt CiCi taught her leg lifts....hilarious!! I am not sure whether or not Lilly will sleep all night, but I know Aunt CiCi will sleep good!!!

Eventful Weekend

Well, a lot has happened this weekend. 1. Lilly had a sleepover at Aunt CiCi, Uncle Greg, and GG Odie's Friday night so Mommy and Daddy went on a date. 2. Teething Woes. 3. Our first ER visit (she is ok). 4. Some cute videos. So that is what this post will be about. Okay, so Friday night Lilly spent the night at Aunt CiCi's. It was a sanity saving night for me! Between trying to get unpacked, keep what is already clean clean, and clean what is messy, and deal with a child who is teething some teeth that refuse to break through I was leaning to the edge. THEN, Miss Priss learned to yell this week--not unhappy, not squealing, just yelling really loudly so I was pretty much on the brink due to the yelling and a bad night's sleep Thursday. So Friday night was a Godsend. Matt and I went to dinner and watched a movie and relaxed and slept. How did Lilly do??? She slept all night....in fact, they had to make noise to wake her up at 8:30. WHAT??!!? GG Odie cooked breakfast for us in the morning and we got to clean and unpack while Lilly was still there. Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner! Thanks again guys.
Saturday, we ran some errands. Saturday night we ran into some teething woes. Lilly actually ran a fever and barely slept. She was up every hour. This must be them actually trying to break through the gum...for the love of God it MUST be them breaking through the gum!!! Sunday morning she started feeling better and fever was gone so we decided to grab some lunch since we were too exhausted from not sleeping to cook...and go to Wal-Mart.
(ER STORY) Lilly likes to ride in her stroller around Wal-Mart so she can see what is going on. So, we had her strapped in, but we took her out in order to feed her. When we put her back in, she was sitting up and playing with her toys. Well, since she usually has zero interest in sitting up, we decided to let her sit up and play and didn't strap her in. On the POSITIVE side, she sat up for forever and played. Anyway, so we finish our shopping trip and head to the checkout. I realize she has lost her paci somewhere so I ran to go get a new pack of pacifiers. Matt was unloading the cart onto the scanner and Lilly....well, Lilly was wiggling right out the bottom of her stroller!!! She slid out of the stroller right underneath the snack tray on the stroller onto the concrete Wal-Mart floor. Matt hears her crying, turns around and sees her on the floor! I come back to my baby crying. Well, neither one of us saw how she fell. Did she hit her head? Did she land on her butt? Is she okay?? A little bit of panic might have settled over both of us.
So, although we were 95% sure that she was fine because she only cried for a couple of minutes and then seemed to be in her normal good spirits, we decided it was better to be safe than sorry. We took her to her first ER visit. After three hours of waiting, the doctor took a look at her and said she seemed just fine. WHEW. Talk about a little scare. In the above picture, you can see her hospital bracelet on her ankle. Poor baby girl. Oh and after some discussion, we think she probably landed on her butt and then hit her head on the stroller...not good, but better than concrete. Yes, Matt and I feel like terrible parents....no need to reiterate that we should have been paying better attention or strapped her in to begin with.
These are some pictures of Lilly playing on the floor after we got home from our fun-filled ER visit.
What's up guys?
Don't worry-I am alright! Mom and Dad might still be a little traumatized, but I am doing okay.

(VIDEO above) This is just a video of Lilly playing on the floor.
(VIDEO above) The above video is of what I call the "bottle smack". For the longest time, Lilly has enjoyed hitting the bottle while she eats. She also waves to herself in this video (and the other video). She started doing this on Friday and hasn't stopped yet. She does it all the time. In the middle of playing, she just stops, waves to herself, smiles, and then goes back to playing. Hope you guys had a great weekend!

Lately...

Styling in her hat because it was COLD in daddy's office!!
We went to Aunt CiCi and Uncle Greg's house and they had a surprise for Lilly--a new Tutu!! Yay for tutus! This one is her razorback tutu.
Playing in the floor this morning.
This is her outfit for today. Her shirt says "sweet"--it is perfect for her because she really is just the sweetest natured little girl in the world!! I really think I would think that without my parental bias but I guess we will never really know. The wet spot on her left leg is from the DMV. I gave her a juice bottle at the DMV. I literally looked up at the lady and signed two places and looked back down and she had shaken juice EVERYWHERE. The car seat was wet, her jeans were wet, the bib she was wearing was soaked. This was a good hour after the "juice incident". I took the juice bottle and she giggled! So funny.
I went in to check on Miss Priss while she was napping today and this is how I found her. I don't know how well you can tell, but she is totally on her knees, her but is way up in the air, and her stomach is not touching the bed.
Lilly loves to drink out of a straw or the side of the cup. She gets a little excited and tends to over drink on the side of the cup so the straw works best right now.

She is so cute. Before the straw gets to her mouth, she opens her mouth as wide as she can and shakes her hands in excitement.
Tank is also the funniest toy we have in the house to Lilly. She just loves it and laughs any time he is near. She especially loves whenever he gets close enough and lets her touch him!
Lilly and Tank posing for the camera.
She thinks it is a RIOT when he chases his bone around the living room!!
