Dance Parties & Hair Cuts

We were sitting around the other morning when Lilly got excited and said, "Mommy will you put on some music?  I just want to dance!"  Then she added, "Oh wait!  I have to go put on a dress so I can twirl!"
 And she came out like this.  I put some music on and her dance party started.  For a second.  Until she paused and started lining up all the chairs...
 and filling them with an audience.  She was having a "recycle" (recital) as she calls it.  Ha!
 Reid was forced against his will reluctantly watched his sister dance.  ( ;
 Love this all-girl-twirl-loving princess.
 One morning I told Reid we were going to get his hair cut and his response was, "I don't need my hair cut!  It's not even in my eyes yet!!!"  Maybe not my best moment.  Ha!

 He was really good for Mrs. Brittney!

 Checking it out!
Verdict:  Handsome!  Love that sweet face!

Daddy/Daughter Dance

A friend of ours gave Matt tickets to a Daddy/Daughter dance a couple of weeks ago.
 This little princess was SO excited.  This dress she has on was a flower girl dress that Matt's cousin wore in a wedding when she was Lilly's age.  Aunt Kay gave it to Lilly for dress-up clothes for Christmas and Lilly picked it out to wear for the dance.  She calls it her "Belle" dress.  She also wore her Cinderella shoes and her tiara.

 I love this picture!  Isn't she precious??
 Lilly and Daddy all ready to go!
 I just love these two and watching them together just melts my heart.
They had a great time at the dance.  Matt said he nearly passed out a couple of times from spinning her so much.  Ha!
 We had VBX (Vacation Bible Extreme) all that week and the dance was the last night of it so we went there for a little while and then they left a little early from there, but since Lilly was getting to go all dressed up Reid wanted to get all dressed up, too.  (:
 It was almost 90 degrees outside.  Ha!
Reid and I enjoyed our time shopping for Matt for Father's Day while Lilly and Daddy were dancing.  After that we all met at the yogurt shop and celebrated the end of a very fun and busy week!  (:

Father's Day

 We started Father's Day off with the kids giving Matt his gift.  They really didn't want to wait until Father's Day and had a pretty funny conversation in the car trying to remind each other that it was a secret.  I was just sure one of them was going to blurt it out but they didn't.  Good job kids!  We got Matt a French Press and some different coffees.  He has become quite the coffee snob drinker.  Ha!
 Okay so Reid and I went to pick out a card for Matt and Reid was set on a singing card.  Seriously, the people in the card aisle were cracking up at him.  I showed him a zillion cards (okay, just every other Father's Day card there) to try and sway him but he was adamant that THIS was the card for Matt.  I told Matt before he opened up the card that Reid had picked this card out all by himself JUST for him.
 This would be the look on Matt's face when he opened it.
 And a high-five of approval for Reid.  Haha!
 My three loves before we headed out the door for church!  After church we went to Noodles for lunch.
 Then we headed out to Aunt CiCi's to go fishing.  Now the funny thing was Matt and I had talked the week before about maybe fishing on Father's Day.  Then Friday night I mentioned that Sunday was Father's Day--both Lilly and Reid responded, "Yay!  We get to go fishing!"  Y'all--they ARE listening.  ( ;
 Lilly, Reid, and I hung out in the hammock and climbed the tree (I didn't climb the tree) while Matt got all the fishing poles ready.

 Then it was fishing time.
 Lilly needs to work on some patience if she wants to enjoy fishing.  She mainly just wanted to reel it in.
 We did enjoy seeing the ducks, too.

 Stud.
 He gets it from him.  ( :  We are so thankful for Matt--he is an AWESOME dad!!
 The kids were done fishing after about 15 minutes so I took them inside to nap while Matt did a little more fishing.  Aunt CiCi's dog Lexi was inside laying on her bed asleep with a fan blowing on her.  I couldn't help but laugh and take a picture.
 While the kids were sleeping Matt ran and got our swimsuits that we could all swim when they got up...and we did.
 We all love the pool!
 Then we went to Mojitos for dinner.  We love their chips and salsa!
 We sat out on the patio because the weather was so nice.
 Then we ended the night by going to the drive-in to see the movie Epic.  Lilly was super-excited when she found out her friend Hannah was going to be there, too!  It was our first time to the drive-in and they thought the commercials at the beginning were hilarious.
As we were driving home we asked Lilly what she thought of the movie and she said, "Well it wasn't great."  We busted out laughing.  The truth is I think it was a little old for her in the story-line department.  Either way, we all had a great day and are so blessed!

Sweet and Silly

 Lilly said, "Take a picture of me and Daddy!"  (:  Of course!
 Reid running around with this wrist warmer (??? It goes with a pair of my gloves)--he kept calling it his cast.

 This boy just likes to run around in his underwear.  Apparently modesty is something you have to teach.  Ha!  Also, just as a funny side note, MoMo got him his first pair of boxer briefs and the child would NOT take them off.  I had to be like, "Okay buddy it is day 3--they HAVE to come off so we can wash them."  Haha!  Since then MoMo has supplied him with one pair for every day of the week.  ( ;
 We were going to meet some friends at the park the other day and Reid INSISTED that he wanted to wear this.  Until he had it on for five minutes.  Then he INSISTED on changing.  Some things you just have to figure out for yourself.
 Ahhhh I just love her!
 He came out in this the other day and said, "I'm Batman!"
 We were going to get yogurt the other day and Lilly ran to change into her "yogurt outfit."  I had the same thought but figured we would just look silly if we matched.  Ha!
And a little Iron Man.  If these two leave the room, I NEVER know what they are going to look like when they come back.  And I love it.  Keeps life fun(ny).

Barbie Is Moving Tour

Well today I surprised Lilly (and Reid) and took her to the Barbie Is Moving Tour.
 She was very excited to be there.  They gave her a Barbie tote bag as soon as we got there and she has been dragging it around ever since.  Ha!
 At first Reid turned his down but then decided to go for it so he wouldn't have to carry Twinky (his stuffed pig) around all day.
 There was quite a line to get into the Barbie fashion runway when we got there.  They both did pretty good waiting in line.
 Inside they had tutus, feather boas, and sunglasses that they could put on before they walked down the runway.  Lilly ONLY wanted to wear a tutu and she wanted the long light pink one.  (:  Look at that sweetness!!
 Presh!
 This cool dude strutted in some sunglasses.
 Look at that cool smirk.  He knows he has it!
 Ready to walk the runway.  She was very shy about this and covered her face.  That is, until, she saw that she was on the tv.  Then she posed and smiled.  Ha!
 This guy!  This picture--I can't stop laughing.
 They also took their pictures and then text them to me.  How fun!

 After that we went outside and they got to design and color their own Barbie dresses--which we got to take home and are already on our Barbie's here.  We also got to take the markers home so they have also added some more details.  (:
 Of course Reid's just had a few splashes of blue.  Got to keep this manly.  ( ;
 Next it was off to the MegaBlok area...which the kids LOVED.
 This was in the center and it was pretty cool.
 They each got to design their own room.
 Lilly took it a little more serious and showed a tad more focus on this part.  Ha!!
 Lilly's room she built with no help.
 Reid and I worked together to build his room.  He wanted a door that opened.
 They had this big MegaBlok Barbie dreamhouse set up and they could put their rooms inside the frames and take a picture with it.  If you look really close Reid's is in the top frame and Lilly's is in the frame right next to her.
 Taking advantage of my pretty girl and some photo ops!
 So beautiful!
 Look at the hand on the hip.
 And after the last face painting debacle I decided to wait in line for face painting this time.  Although we were *this close* to just coming home and staining our faces again so we didn't have to wait because my Reidster was done with all kinds of waiting and was very hungry at this point.  (:
 Showing off her light pink butterfly.
 Posing with the hot pink dog.
 Hanging out with the Barbie cutout.  I will say that we had a great time but the only thing missing a real-life Barbie...which was a shame because there were like 5 college girls working there that would have been great "Barbie's."  Put them in a hot pink dress, tease their hair, brush some sparkles on them, add some blingy accessories and VIOLA! you have a real life Barbie.  Give her a sharpie and a smile for autographs and pictures and this event just got 1000 times better.  (I am serious--do you remember how awe-inspiring the combination of hot pink and sparkles was for Lilly at the Circus?!!?)
 Reid got an arrow on his cheek.

All of our goodies!  They got tote bags, Megabloks, stickers, self-designed Barbie dresses, and markers.  And they have played with them since we got home.  So, there you have it, our super fun time at the Barbie is Moving Tour!  They are still in our area for the rest of the weekend--check out my post below for locations and times for tomorrow and Sunday!
