El Doctor

Say the title in a thick Spanish accent if you want the full effect (or affect? effect, right??). Ha! Anyway, enough shenanigans..onto the post. We went for our 7th and 8th doctor's appointments in the last month today. We had to recheck both children's ears. I tell you after these past few months, I officially feel like I have EARNED my title of "mother".
Look who wants to stand all the time now...anything to make Mommy feel like days are passing by faster than she blinks...or it could just be normal child development...whatever.
Reid is in pretty good spirits these days and had a better night sleep last night...just got up once at 4:30...but then he was up for good at 7:00. (My kids normally sleep until at least 8:30. Hate me if you need to but I love that blessing! Haha!)
Reid weighed in at 23 lbs 7 ounces. Every time we go to the doctor (which is often these days), he has gained another pound! Lilly weighed in at 23 pounds 15.5 ounces. There is only 8 ounces separating them in weight. Lilly has only gained 2 1/2 pounds since she was 9 months old though...it is really not a fair comparison.
She is on the go so much that I think it would be almost impossible not to burn off every calorie she eats! I will let Lilly show you what Dr. G did during the appointment.
He checked their ears to see if they were still infected.
He listened to their heartbeats.
He pressed on those cute little tummies!
Give it to me straight doc...am I okay??
Yesss. Dr. G said that Lilly's ears for the most part looked pretty good. They were red which he couldn't really explain which made him a little nervous. He said to go ahead and keep her on antibiotic for an extra couple of days and just keep an eye on her and look for any signs such as not sleeping or pulling at her ears.
As for Reid, Dr. G said that Reid's ears were showing really good progress! He wants us to keep him on his antibiotic for a few extra days and just watch him but he is VERY hopeful! This is good news as we are very close to having to discuss getting tubes put in.
We are happy with this appointment!
Lilly was checking herself out in the mirror.
Then, ate some chocolate cheerios as a snack. Dr. G had not heard of chocolate cheerios yet (what?) and was excited to try some!
Dr. G just LOVED Lilly. He said, "I don't know what it is about that girl, but she has just charmed me today!" He also gave her a ring which she has enjoyed wearing today. Haha...that is my precious sweet girl! Don't feel bad for Reid, the nurses were enamored with him and his big smiles!

Yay! I am so glad they are both looking better. Praying that Lilly's ears continue to heal. Tubes are not exciting, but if they have to get them, they are a blessing. Jackson has not had one ear infection since getting them at 18 mos. He had 14 ear infections in 12 months prior to getting them, so they really helped him out! But let's hope it doesn't come to that! See you soon!
