Lately

Ever since we got back from Christmas--we have been busy working away on projects.  You will get to see said projects this weekend after we hang the stuff on Lilly's walls and it is officially finished.  (:  So here are a few random things that we have done in between.
We hired our FIRST babysitter ever!  The main word in there is hired because our family has watched Lilly and Reid before and our church watches them frequently during Friday Night Out.  In fact, Miss Natasha is from church and she is regularly in the kids' rooms so they were immediately comfortable with her and had a great time!
Matt and I went on an official date.  We went to dinner at a new Japanese style place and then, because we are wild and crazy, we went to several furniture stores.  After that we went to Copelands and shared a Banana's Foster.  Holy Moly that thing is divine!
We spent a week in below freezing temperatures (with no snow...I firmly believe if we are below freezing then there needs to be snow) and then we had a really NICE 60 degree day so we took advantage and had a picnic in the park.
After being home so much this week--we ALL needed to get out of the house and go play, play, play!
Okay so back in December my sweet friend Melissa came to visit us and we all met at Starbucks and got to catch up!  It was so good to see her!
We miss her and her family so much!  This picture is from October.  Sadly I also have pictures from July that haven't been blogged yet either.  Melissa-even though I have blog neglected you-know that we love you guys!
Oh, the drama of the band-aid!  In case it is hard to tell in this photo, Lilly has a band-aid (a Dora band-aid to be more specific) on her big toe.  While putting her socks on the other day I noticed that her toenail had split half way down and I showed Matt and said we needed to put a band-aid on it.  She had not noticed it yet and when she heard me--she freaked out.  "Oh my toe!  I need a band-aid!  It hurts!  Ow! Ow! Ow!"  Anyway, we have been keeping a band-aid on it and it is healing nicely.  And while it has been rough on her, she is surviving.  (I hope you pick up on the combination of sympathetic and sarcastic tone there.)
Of course because Lilly has a band-aid, Reid needs a band-aid.  Monkey see, monkey do.  At first he wanted it on his toe like Lilly.  But he immediately decided he didn't like that and wanted it on his nose.  Matt had a cut on his nose and had to wear a band-aid on it a couple of weeks ago...but it wasn't zebra striped.  Ha!  He played all morning with that loud band-aid across his nose.  It is those little things that make me LOVE my job.  ( :

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I am now following you... I don't know I haven't before. Sounds like a great date night. Denver and I had feltner brothers with Chickfila ice cream as our dessert tonight all BEFORE the hog game!

Have a great weekend!

That is to funny! I love how little things like band-aids can keep a child busy for forever!
