Zoo/Gifts/Mommy's Day Out

Well, for the first time in at least a month, Lilly slept all night Saturday night. Matt and I woke up so rested we didn't know what to do with ourselves!! So, we loaded up and headed to Tulsa to see Grandpa Dennis, Oksana, Uncle Mike, and go to the zoo!!! We had lunch with Grandpa, Uncle Mike, and Ashlyn (U. Mike's girlfriend) at Marie Calanders where they had the largest brunch spread I have seen. Then, to the zoo we went with Uncle Mike and Ashlyn. Our first really cheesy family photo!!! I can only hope there are soooo many more of these to come! At the zoo, Lilly really loved the elephant and the chimpanzees. There was a baby chimpanzee that kept rolling/doing flips and would come right up next the glass. He put his face right in front of Lilly's. It was so HOT....at one bank it said 111 degrees and another 103 degrees. I couldn't tell you which one was accurate...just that it was tooooo hot to be outside. So, we just went to the air conditioned exhibits and then left.
Uncle Mike and Ashlyn monkeying around!

Lilly riding around the zoo. We kept her cool by keeping a steady flow of ice water going into her. Also, we bought a misting fan and kept that going. She did just fine in the heat...mommy...well, lets just say it was harder on me than her! BTW...doesn't she look so long and tall in this picture????
Monday we got a package in the mail from Aunt Susan, Uncle Eddie, and Cousins Lynn and Daryl. I figured that I should wait for Matt to open it....but I didn't want to wait until he got off work so I took it there when we went for lunch! In it was the softest blanket for Reid! One side is the light blue with tan, brown, and darker blue stars and the other side is a really soft chocolate brown material. They also sent read some rattle socks and wrist rattle. I can't wait to see our baby boy wrapped up in this sweet blanket!!!
Cousin Lynn just got back from visiting her beau Bill in Australia (I almost typed Alaska...haha..not even close!) and she (they) sent Lilly some goodies too! She sent this stuffed kangaroo and Priscilla piggy bank. She also enclosed some Australian coins! I was trying to get a picture of just the stuff, but as you can see Lilly wanted to play with it (as she has since we gave it to her).
Saying cheese with the kangaroo! This is right after we showed it to her.
Giggling at the hopping kangaroo.
Kissing the pig!
Saying Cheese with the pig.
Grabbing the pig from Daddy. Oink Oink Oink. That is one of Lilly's favorite animal sounds. Thank you guys so much for being so thoughtful!!! Lilly LOVES her gifts and I know Reid will too! It is so sweet of you to think of us!!
Today, Lilly spent the day with her Aunt GiGi. I think in this photo she is saying, "Hey, mom isn't here...why are we still taking photos??" While I was out getting a manicure and pedicure, having lunch and seeing The Proposal with some gal pals (Great movie!), washing the car, and running some errands....ahhhhh, it was so nice! Anywho, Lilly was hanging with Aunt Gigi.
They played ball together.
Ate lots of puffs and other food. Aunt GiGi said Lilly was happy all day long...didn't even whimper...not even at nap time. Go Lilly Go!!!!!
At home tonight, Lilly was really into "reading".
"I've almost read them all, Mom!" We have had such a good and blessed past few days! We are leaving tomorrow to be out of town for an extended weekend. We will try to post, but I am not sure we will have Internet access...If not, we promise lots of photos and details when we get back!

Great photos! She looks so big and grown up in that stroller picture. Your mother's day out sounds fabulous - amazing what you can accomplish in just a few hours, huh?! Have a fun and safe weekend traveling!
