8 Months!

Yesterday (Friday) Lilly turned 8 months! Lilly, what have you been up to? Well, for starters you have been teething! You love this rubber toothbrush. You are the proud owner of two bottom teeth, but you are very stingy in showing them off. You stick your tongue out over them when somebody tries to see them or if Mommy is trying to get a picture of those pearly whites!
All in all, you have handled teething pretty well. Thursday you were clearly uncomfortable as the right bottom tooth was finishing coming all the way through the gum...we think it is understandable though.
Also, on your 8 month day, you sat in a high chair for the first time. I wasn't sure how you would do since you sit up when you feel like it...but you really enjoyed it. You ate, looked around, and stayed in there while we ate lunch! You are becoming such a big girl.
You are also talking and jabbering up a storm. You say, "dadadadad", "mamamama" (my favorite), "yayayayaya", "nuhnuhnuh", and "ahnooo" which sounds a lot like "I know!". In addition, you also like to shriek. Daddy and Mommy joke that the pterodactyl is not extinct in our house!
Eating: You like to eat! You are like a little bird with a wide open mouth between bites. Tonight, you ate peas without making all the disgusting faces. You do enjoy blowing raspberries while eating which results in food being sprayed everywhere....lovely.
You are army crawling sometimes...it is getting more and more frequent. You still roll everywhere. You also get on your hands and knees and rock back and forth and scoot backwards. You haven't exactly figured out to get all of those things to come together yet, but you are so close!!! However, you have been able to get around by rolling for awhile now.
You walk backwards in your walker. I can take your hands and help you go forward, but on your own, you just go in reverse around the kitchen/dining room.
You are such a happy baby. People are always asking Daddy and I if you are always "this happy" and the truth is that you pretty much are. You are so sweet and happy all the time. We are worried we might be in big trouble with your little brother because what are the chances that we will get two babies that are this happy all the time? (Either way, we will love you just as much little man!)
You raise both of your hands up in the air...like you are shouting "hallelujah" or "touch down"! It is so stinking cute! You are also back to sleeping through the night (hallelujah) on a regular basis. And as with every month, you are growing like a weed! You are in 6-9 month clothes. You wear size 3 diapers. You weigh 18 lbs. 11oz. You are getting a new car seat this weekend because you have really outgrown the infant carrier. Also, you have become a little too mobile so we are also getting you a high chair this weekend.
On an "eight month" final note, You ate a cheerio for the first time Friday as well. You actually ate 3 and did very well--no choking. You like little bits of ice, ice cream, and Popsicles! Popsicles have really helped with the teething (Dr. recommended this for other moms out there)..you grind your little teeth stubs on the Popsicle. I could never list all of the stuff you do to make us laugh and smile and amaze us everyday, but I think that is enough of a highlight for one post. We love you baby girl and thank God for you each and every day!!!!
On another important note, my 4 year old nephew had to have his tonsils and adenoids removed AND new tubes put in his ears. Above is a picture of Lilly with her MoMo's friend Adam. He came down to make sure the surgery went well with Ethan. He and Lilly became good buddies over the weekend.
Praise God! The surgery went well!! He did so well. We are soooo proud of him...he was such a BIG boy! He wanted Lilly to sit next to him. My sister, Michelle, is sitting with Lilly and Ethan, too. She handled the whole situation like a champ!
Okay, so while Ethan was "out" for surgery, they put an IV in his arm. To prevent him from pulling it out, they put foam under his arm and wrapped it with a bandage....so it looked like a cast. Well, when he woke up from surgery and saw his arm, he thought they broke his arm!! Even now that he is home, he is walking around like his arm is broken. He is so funny and adorable.
Lilly and MoMo.
Friday night, we went out to dinner with our friends John, Brittney, and Trevor. Brittney is pregnant and is due a week and a half after me. It is so nice having a friend that is pregnant at the same time!!
We went on a mini road trip today (Saturday) and I will post about that tomorrow because this post is already really long.
