Okay out of my new found love of scripture cards and my desire to share with you the areas I want to grow in comes my newest printable...Gospel (or "good news") Scripture cards. During my women's discipleship class they gave us a 4x6 index card and our homework was to write out "the Gospel" and just have it in our bible in case God wanted to use us. Ummmmmm...I did not complete my homework...until now...4 months later. But the good news about "THE Good News" is that it is now on a printable so that you can have it too. And WE can share it with whoever God puts in our path.
Now to be quite honest the only person I have ever shared The Gospel with is my uncle when he was on his death bed so I am pretty much a novice...and at the time God provided a list of scriptures that a pastor had left because my uncle was unconscious when he was there. BUT how much more natural would it have been had I had these ready to go and in my heart??? So I am printing 3 sets of these--one to go in my bible, one to go in my car, and one to go in my purse--and I am just going to let God know that if he ever wants to use me to share the Gospel that I have prepared myself. (I laughed as I read that...like I need to let him know.) Romans 1:16--For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes.
Okay so in our class we were given two different outlines on sharing the Gospel. I did one of them on 3x5 Index Cards (there are five) and they are separated into key points. Also anything in parenthesis are just my notes. The information on them is as follows:
1.
God Loves
Psalm 139—He made you and knows you (talks about how He knit
you together in the womb, knows everything about you, His thoughts about you
can’t be numbered.)
Genesis 1:27 God created man in His own image
2.
Sin Separates
Romans 3:23—“For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory
of God.”
(E-V-E-R-Y-O-N-E has sinned.
We all need a savior. No one can
earn their way into Heaven because we ALL have sinned and fall short of the
Glory of God.)
3.
Jesus Saves
Romans 6:23—“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift
of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.
John 3:16—“God so loved that world, that He gave His one and
only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal
life.”
(Salvation is a gift
of love.)
4.
We Believe
Romans 10:9-10—“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is
Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be
saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God,
and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. ”
5.
Good Summary Verse
Ephesians 2:8-10—God saved you by his grace when you
believed. And you can’t take credit for
this; it is a gift from God. Salvation
is not a reward for good things we have done, so none of us can boast about
it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we
can do good things he planned for us long ago.
The other one is referred to as "Romans Road" and it is just the key Gospel scriptures throughout the book of Romans. I did this one on a single big index card (4x6). Here is what is on this card:
“Romans Road”
·
Romans 3:23
For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God.
·
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in
Jesus Christ our Lord.
·
Romans 5:8
But God demonstrated His own love toward us in that while we were yet
sinners, Christ died for us.
·
Romans 10:9/13
If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord’ and believe in your
heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved…For everyone who calls
on the name of the Lord will be saved.
·
Romans 5:1
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God
through our Lord Jesus Christ…
·
Romans8:1
Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus
HERE IS THIS PRINTABLE ***Also I just want to stress that these printables are free and you don't have to join 4shared to print them!! Just download and then wait a few seconds and the link will appear. Also another thing--it is much easier to print on index cards if you use the photo part of the printer.
I am praying that God uses something as simple as these to do big things for His kingdom!
