Happy Halloween

Well at about 12:30 Sunday afternoon Lilly said she wanted to be a cat for Halloween. She had mentioned it before but I thought it would be fleeting and we could just go with one of the dress up things she already has...but when she brought it up again I figured I would go look. I found this mask and tail (with the help of MoMo and Aunt Shelly) at Wal-Mart for $5. I couldn't figure out why she wanted to be a cat. So random. But then I saw that Dora was a cat in her Halloween episode. Ha! Isn't she just the cutest cat??

She was so excited about her tail. It's the little things. We started our day with Kid's Day Out. The kids had fall parties. This is our third party day in a row. I am partied out! (;

Reid was a razorback!

LOVE this little razorback!

Tonight we went over to Flint, Rebekah, and Cilla's house. We went trick-or-treating. This was actually Lilly and Reid's first time to go trick-or-treating.

They were both so excited to hold their pumpkin flashlights. (Oh I should mention that Lilly decided to change into a cheerleader after wearing the mask for awhile.)

On our way to find some candy!

Lilly helping Reid stay on the sidewalk.

Knocking on the first door!!

Aaannnnd they weren't home. So we moved on to the next house.

Yay! When the people answered the door, the kids just stood there. I don't know that we ever got them to say "trick or treat" but I think we got them to say a few "thank you"s.

It was funny how fast they got the hang of trick-or-treating! It only takes one time of getting free candy to understand. Ha!

Enjoying some loot along the way.

Photo op.

Such cuties!

ALL knocking on the door.

We saw some church friends!

My sweet family.

Once we got back to the house we ate some of Rebekah's yummy chili and then Lilly became a Cowgirl Cheerleading Cat. I guess she didn't want to choose one so she just morphed them all together. It was pretty funny.

We had a fun Halloween with our sweet family and some sweet friends! I have a feeling that we will no longer have the option of whether or not to trick-or-treat! The kids loved it!

Saturday Fun

Saturday we just hung out as a family. I cleaned out some toys the kids were too big for/didn't play with anymore. It is amazing how great it makes me feel to get rid of stuff that is just wasting our precious space!! We also watched the Razorbacks play Vandy. It wasn't pretty but, again, we ended up with the "W". I am really hoping we decide to play both halves of the game next week though. (: Aunt Susan sent Lilly and Reid each a package of felt fall stickers. They have been asking to use them since they came in the mail so we decided that it was time!

They used their stickers to create fall scenes on orange construction paper.

Reid was so into it he didn't want to look up for me to take a picture! I had said his name at least twenty times and he finally looked up and viola--this picture was taken.

They loved the felt stickers and that they were able to peel them off all by themselves. Thanks Aunt Susan for all the fun!

At the Target dollar spot I bought a couple of packages of those window clingy things (technical term?) so we busted those out tonight too.

DeDe had bought some at her house and the kids really enjoyed them so I thought we would get some for the house. I am glad I did because they LOVE them.

Reid was saying, "Mommy! It's a crescent moon!" Such a smarty. He learned that from Lilly. She learned it from my Toddler Teaser Shapes App on my phone. Can I still take credit because I was the one that downloaded the app?? Ha!

Finding the perfect spot for the moon. Up high!

Lilly. So serious.

Pretty good fun for $2.

Their finished work! We celebrated with Frosties from Wendy's.

Our Friday.

Well just before midnight Thursday night I got a phone call letting me know that my uncle Tom has passed away. I was surprised to find that I had an indescribable peace about the whole thing that I hadn't had up to that point. (Thank you Lord. (-:)

After spending a week straight at the hospital I was glad to spend Friday morning at home. My friends Sydney and Rebekah brought their girls over to play and I was thankful for the company and distraction. I was also thankful that they didn't care that the house was a mess...and so was I. I pre-warned them that I was strictly brushing my teeth and putting on deodorant and they still showed up!! Ha!! After the kids played a while we grabbed some Taco Bell and then headed to the kids yearly check-ups. (I may have forgotten to schedule them so we are a teeny bit late on getting these.) At 3 years old, this little princess is weighing in at 29 pounds (25th percentile) and is 38 inches tall (65th percentile). She got her blood pressure checked for the first time ever and was fascinated by it. She was excited to see the doctor and asked the nurse and another patient if they were the doctor. Dr. P is funny and kept calling her Reid (on purpose) and she would say, "No, I'm Lilly!" The dr. said everything looks great.

This handsome 2 year old weighed in at 31 pounds (80th percentile) and 36 inches tall (80th percentile). He had to get one shot. He did great-he didn't even cry...until we got in the car. Apparently he was just being tough for the nurse. Ha! Glad we are done with shots until Kindergarten!

The band-aid covering the shot spot has been quite the ordeal. He wanted to replace that one. So we did. Then he wanted a new one but he just carried it around crying and wouldn't let us put it on. But then he kept crying about how he wanted it on. This lasted about 15 or 20 minutes.

Friday night Chick-fil-A was having Princess Night (and Superhero night, too, but I didn't know that until we got there so Reid wasn't dressed up. Oops!)

We saw some of our friends while we were there!

Rapunzel. I mean Cilla. (;

And Belle, I mean Stella. Lilly has on the Dora princess dress.

While we are talking about Stella, her sweet Mommy Sydney dropped these off for us one night while I was at the hospital so we could have a sweet treat when I got home. How precious is that?? Thanks to her I ate 3 cupcakes in 3 days. Ha! and Eeeek!! They were so yummy and were such a great surprise!

At Princess Night Lilly got her nails painted. She LOVES to get her nails painted.

She got a pink balloon flower. She even wanted a pink stem. That's just how she rolls.

Then she got a pink heart on painted on her face.

Showing it off...but you can't really see it.

The cows were there to take pictures with but my kids have some kind of mascot phobia. They LOVE them as long as they are 3 plus feet away. Any closer they literally shake and run away.

But as long as they maintain the 3 feet buffer zone, the kids think they are best friends. In fact as we were leaving Lilly wanted the princess cow to ride home with us. We couldn't figure out how it would be possible to have her in the car AND keep her 3 feet away so we didn't ask her to come with us. Haha!

Reid got a balloon sword and then had his face painted.

After some debate he went with Elmo. He was pretty wiggly so the guy did the best he could.

Then we came home and made some popcorn and snuggled up to watch a princess movie.

Ran.Dom. (:

I got the kids their first candy necklaces a couple of weeks ago.

It was a lot of work and there was a lot of slobber involved. I am marking them down as "not ready".

Lilly and Reid like to do their own gift bag decorating. (:

My mom (aka MoMo) recently got a little dog named "KiKi".

The kids are in love with KiKi and talk about her all the time.

Lilly has enjoyed the pirate eye patch she got from her cousin Marshall's birthday party.

I watched our friend's little boy Will one night so his parents could go to the Razorback game and we had a little jam session.

They were pretty hilarious.

I can't remember if I just tweeted this or if I blogged it too but I almost took out an entire water display at Wal-Mart with this very cart. They really need to offer training classes on how to drive one of these bad boys.

Reid got his hair cut the other day. Both him and Lilly immediately ask for suckers as soon as we get to the salon. They never forget if a place has given them a sticker, prize, or candy. It is really amazing.

The kids cuddled up together and watched some tv the other night. I thought they looked precious together. Nothing melts my heart more than watching them be sweet friends.

The other night we made some acorn cookies. We all enjoyed making them and eating them. (I saw this on pinterest--it is just a vanilla wafer, hershey kiss, peanut butter, and a peanut butter chip...if we make them again I will use the mini-wafers. Super easy, festive, and fun.)

A couple of weeks ago we had a really bad storm. Our kids slept right through it BUT Tank ended up in our room. He hates a storm.

DeDe came in town a couple of weekends ago and spoiled the kids with a shopping trip. They loved it and I am thankful that they got to have a fun time shopping with her.

Lilly keeps telling me that we need to go back to Kohl's because she needs some more toys. I hold in the laughter because she "needs" for nothing. Ha!

The other night Lilly made Reid a bed on the floor and had him come and lay down (and he gladly did because Lilly wanted him to) and she patted his back, talked to him in a sweet voice, and then sang to him. Precious!!

I only put this picture on here for a laugh. I "made" these cookies by breaking apart the dough and putting them in the oven the other night. I took this picture and was going to text Matt a picture to let him know that he had a yummy treat waiting for him when he got home. Well they weren't getting firm so I decided to stick them back in the oven for ONE more minute. I forgot all about them for at least 10 minutes. They were crunchy and hard! I had to text him...OOPS! Burnt the cookies! Ha!

Lilly was making the above and was telling me how she was making it for Daddy. Well when Daddy came into the room she said, "Here Daddy I made this for you!!" He took it and said, "Thanks sweetie! I love it!" She replied, "That will be $6!" Haha! I guess there is a bit of a mark up in price since it was custom made for him!! (:
