Cereal..Take two

As some of you might remember, Lilly was not a fan of cereal the first time we tried to give it to her.....Well, she is singing a different tune now. Yummy! I picked "Large" for the picture size so hopefully you can see the details.

She likes to try to put her hands in her mouth and eat at the same time, which leads to a little bit of a ........

MESS!!!! Needless to say, we had to go straight to the bath afterward.

Today we brought Daddy lunch. Lilly loves her Daddy-O.

First Sleep Over

Lilly had her first sleep over. She stayed with Aunt CiCi and GG Odie. I didn't get any pictures of the three of them together, but here is Lilly and her suitcase. Of course we had a car full of stuff...playpen, toys, blankets, monitor, etc.

She did really great. She had a little early morning party over there. How did Matt and I do? Fantastic! I think we were both ready. What did Matt and I do? Ate dinner, came home, watched a little tv, went to bed early and slept late. The best part of it all....GG Odie cooked breakfast for us this morning!

I left my camera and this picture was on it. I think they took it right before bed. I thought she would be really excited when we walked in this morning, but not so much. It was kind of like "oh you two again.....here, I do what I want and they talk to me and play with me all the time."

Lilly was acting all crazy with her link-a-doos tonight while in the jumper.

I got her playing with them on video. As always, by the time I think to get the camcorder out, she has settled a little. She was really banging them around making a big racket, but I think you can get the gist from the video.

Had a little trouble getting it back in the mouth so I settled for my thumb and shared the sucker with my cheek.

Price Matching: I bought Matt a portable hard drive for his birthday (I know...best wife ever...right?? haha..j/k..that is what he wanted). It wasn't on sale so I asked if they price matched and they said yes for two weeks. So, I went in today with the sales ad from a different store and a receipt. Now, I know what you are thinking..what crazy person actually does this...and this was my first time, BUT they gave me $54.63 back in cash!!! (That was the difference b/t normal price and sales price.) Worth it! I am semi-proud of myself. Ok..fully proud, but in my defense I don't get out much these days.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Saturday was Matt's birthday!! Happy Birthday to our favorite man!! We spent the morning with Lilly and DeDe.

Then, we had a little mini-date. We had an appetizer at Logans and then watched "He's just not that into you" and ate popcorn and candy...healthy. The movie was cute. This picture (above) was taken right before bed....we are lookin' good. (:

Lilly and DeDe. DeDe came and spent the weekend with us. Thank God for her. Matt hasn't been feeling well, I haven't been feeling well, Lilly hasn't been sleeping well....we needed her help! Thanks again DeDe. Lilly has slept most of today...I am thinking maybe she is going through a growth spurt. It is times like these when I wish she could tell me what is going on.

Say "ahh". Mommy and Lilly. I thought I would take advantage of the fact that I actually put on make up this day and get a few shots with my favorite girl.

This is how and where Lilly sleeps now. In the corner, on her stomach, face just barely to the side to breath (makes me nervous). I would probably never sleep if we didn't have the monitor that tracks her heartbeat/movements.

An attempt to get a picture of Aunt CiCi with Eva Kate, Lilly, and Marshall. Aunt Theresa cooked a yummy dinner Saturday night so we got to see the whole family.

Lilly is so sweet to Grandma Odie. She just snuggles up next to her.

The above is a video of Lilly rocking. She is doing this all the time now. Usually it is accompanied by squeals. As you can tell in the end of the video...she is refusing to cooperate and give me a smile. Oh well. We had a great weekend and hope you did as well.

5 months and counting

Lilly turned 5 months old on Sunday. She is doing so much these days. I will list some of them throughout the post. Saturday morning Grandma Odie cooked breakfast. YUMMY. Lilly got to see her cousins Eva Kate and Marshall. They are sitting on Uncle Greg's 4-wheeler. Don't call DHS...she didn't actually ride on it. Eva Kate didn't actually drive (she did some pretty good pretend steering though).

Lilly loves her swing!! She loves to turn sideways in it. She is always squealing and kicking her legs and shaking her fists and arms. It cracks me up.

She is loving her feet these days. I tried to get a picture of her playing with them, but as soon as the camera came out...she looked up.

She also likes eating her hand. Then, when she gets it all good and slobbery she tries to stick it in my mouth. Yay for me. She is obsessed with trying to feel my teeth.

We can no longer get her to lay back and relax in the bathtub. She is busy the whole time. She leans forward. We try to lay her back and she lets out an aggravated grunt until she can lean up again.

Big smiles and giggles. She is laughing so much now and Matt and I will pretty much make fools out of ourselves just to hear that sweet little laugh. She likes to mimic you when you laugh. She also thinks growling is really funny.

Also, I DVR'd the Grammy's and when I went to watch them yesterday....she LOVED them. She squealed and laughed and talked. When the audience would clap and yell, she really got into it. She especially loved Al Green (just like her mommy), Cold Play, and the Jonas Brothers and Stevie Wonder. I was shocked. Matt and I just laughed and laughed at how mesmerized she was. She does love being sung to and I think she might have thought she was getting her own private concert.

So, to summarize, at 5 months, she loves to spend her days swinging, rolling, and jumping in the jumper. She loves eating fingers and drooling. She has discovered her little feet. She smiles all the time and now giggles. A couple of times over the past few nights, she has done that deep belly laugh. She is eating some cereal with her last bottle. She is lighting up our lives every day!! We just love her so very much.

What's happening..

Okay, so I have been a little lazy on the blogging lately. We haven't had a ton to blog about, but here is what you have missed.... We had brunch with MoMo and Aunt Shelly on Thursday. MoMo spent the night Wednesday and Lilly spent the night in MoMo's room. This was as close to a sleep over as Lilly has had and may I say Matt did not take it so well. First, Lilly is usually a super sleeper, but since we switched to formula (when I found out I was pregnant, the doctor said to stop breastfeeding b/c it causes the uterus to contract) she has had some tummy issues that wake her up frequently during the night. So, we were tired. I asked MoMo to stay and keep her which was fine with Matt until bedtime. He wanted to turn the monitor on (isn't that the same as having her in the room???) so after I said no...He was thinking maybe MoMo could sleep with me and he could stay in there with Lilly. Again, I said no. As we were praying before bed, I prayed for Matt's anxiety to ease and for him to relax a little. He prayed for God to soften my hardened heart!!!! Haha. Don't worry...he settled and we were able to sleep pretty well. It was just funny and cute. Also, we switched to soy formula (it stinks!!) and Lilly is doing and feeling much better. Thank you MoMo for the good nights sleep.

Well we finally had Lilly's four month photos done today....2 days before she turns 5 months. B/t being sick and the weather, this was really our first opportunity.

Here is a hint of the photo shoot. Another hint: her future is so bright she had to put on her shades. I can't wait to see them!!

They came and cleaned up our backyard today....these are the before photos. Half one.

Half two. We have a huge mound of tree limbs/sticks by the curb now. The dogs thought they had a playland of sticks.

American Idol Thoughts....I like the guy whose wife died and his friend, the 16 year old girl from Starkville...those are our favorites thusfar. I was extremely happy to see the "bikini girl" go. We didn't have electricity for the last week of tryouts so that is really all I have on that now. Matt and I are kind of American Idol addicts.
